Role Overview
Apollo Agriculture is seeking a Commercial Data Analyst for a Reliever Role. Apollo helps farmers in emerging markets increase their profits by using agronomic machine learning, remote sensing, and mobile technology to provide credit, high-quality farm inputs, and customized advice. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business operations and technical execution, ensuring our teams have the data and tools they need to drive growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Business Alignment: Work alongside Commercial and Data teams to translate business needs into technical tasks and prioritize requests based on organizational goals.
Trend Analysis: Identify trends and patterns in data to provide evidence for improving sales, growth, and customer satisfaction.
Dashboard Management: Create, maintain, and audit dashboards used across the business to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
Data Empowerment: Train Commercial teams on how to use dashboards and move toward data-backed reporting.
Technical Definition: Help define ambiguous requests and collaborate with Engineering to ensure systems are built to serve business objectives.
Skill Development: Work under the guidance of senior analysts and the Technology team to apply technical skills to complex, real-world operations.
Requirements
Education: A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience working with data beyond spreadsheets.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in writing SQL queries involving joins, aggregations, and CTEs.
Experience using Python for data tasks (e.g., cleaning data with pandas, simple scripting, or automation).
Ability to troubleshoot SQL issues with guidance.
Soft Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts simply to non-technical teammates and vice versa.
Bonus Skills: Experience with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) or data modeling tools (e.g., dbt) is a plus. Institutional knowledge of Apollo’s dashboards and internal systems is a significant advantage.
