Cloud Architect

The mission is to achieve this vision by investing in the human and physical capital of Africa.\n\nThe Cloud Architect will design and implement robust cloud architectures, specifically focusing on Microsoft 365 (M365) and Google Workspace environments. The role involves managing identity, access, and collaboration platforms across the Foundation's growing portfolio. You will be responsible for building security-by-design controls, implementing data protection policies, and ensuring secure cloud connectivity.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n* Design and implement M365 and Google Workspace tenant architectures, including identity, access, collaboration, and device management.\n* Collaborate with departments to build efficient workflows within cloud environments.\n* Manage access rights, onboarding/offboarding, and review collaboration platforms for portfolio companies.\n* Own patterns for Entra ID (Azure AD), SSO/federation, MFA, Conditional Access, and lifecycle automation.\n* Build security-by-design controls for email, collaboration, and endpoint posture. Implement Data Leak Prevention (DLP), information classification, and retention policies.\n* Lead or support coexistence and migration projects for Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Google Workspace tools.\n* Apply knowledge of DNS, SMTP, routing, VPN/proxy, and zero-trust patterns to cloud connectivity.\n* Produce architecture artifacts: current/future state diagrams, High Level Documents (HLD), Low Level Documents (LLD), decision records, standards, and runbooks.\n* Oversee service health, integrate logs with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and support incident response.\n* Work with vendors, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and internal teams while mentoring junior staff.\n\n### Qualifications & Experience\n* At least 2 to 5 years experience in cloud/infrastructure/security engineering with hands-on M365 and/or Google Workspace administration.\n* Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or any other relevant field.\n* Hybrid identity and migration tooling experience (e.g., Entra Connect, third-party migration tools, directory sync concepts).\n* Security certifications or vendor certificates (e.g., Microsoft, Google, CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 familiarity).\n* Experience working in regulated environments or supporting audits.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Pharo Foundation HRIS portal via the provided link.
