Job Description
The Narok County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit Clinical Officer Specialists specializing in Paediatrics. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing specialized clinical services including critical care, paediatric management, reproductive health, and anesthesia. The role involves detailed patient care from initial history taking and examination to performing specialized surgical procedures within their scope of training. Additionally, the officers will be involved in mentoring students and administrative reporting.
Responsibilities
Offer specialized clinical services in critical care, Paediatrics, Reproductive Health, and Anaesthesia.
Conduct history taking, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of emergency patients.
Carry out surgical procedures as per training and specialized skills.
Review patients and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
Coach and mentor students attached to the hospital facility.
Prepare and present medical-legal reports as required.
Perform any other duties as outlined in the scheme of service for Clinical Officers.
Requirements
A Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery with specialization in Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Reproductive Health, or Critical Care from a recognized institution.
Minimum of two (2) years post-training experience in a busy hospital setting.
A Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
A valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council.
A Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course (lasting not less than 2 weeks) or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
Certificate in computer application skills will be an added advantage.
