Job Description
The Narok County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit Clinical Officer Specialists in Anaesthesia. The successful candidates will be responsible for offering specialized clinical services including critical care, Paediatrics, Reproductive Health, and Anaesthesia. The role involves managing emergency cases, performing surgical procedures, and ensuring high standards of patient care through accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide specialized clinical services in critical care, Paediatrics, Reproductive Health, and Anaesthesia.
Conduct detailed history taking, physical examinations, and diagnosis of patients.
Manage and treat emergency patients promptly.
Perform surgical procedures within the scope of training and expertise in specialized areas (Critical care, Paediatrics, Reproductive Health, and Anaesthesia).
Review patient progress and initiate appropriate medical referrals.
Provide coaching and mentorship to students and interns attached to the hospital.
Prepare and present medical-legal reports as required.
Perform any other duties as prescribed by the scheme of service for Clinical Officers.
Requirements for Appointment
A Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Reproductive Health, or Critical Care) from a recognized institution.
At least two (2) years of post-training experience in a busy hospital environment.
A Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
A valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council.
A certificate in a Supervisory Skills Course (minimum 2 weeks) from a recognized institution is considered an added advantage.
Proficiency in computer application skills is an added advantage.
