City Eye Hospital is seeking a Clinical Officer specialized in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) and Pre-surgical Optimization. The role is focused on managing patients with uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes to ensure they are stabilized for safe surgical procedures within defined timelines. This is not a general outpatient position; it requires a specialist focus on chronic disease management and structured patient tracking through a pre-surgical pathway.
Responsibilities
Manage patients presenting with uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes.
Stabilize patients efficiently to ensure they are medically ready for surgery within specific timelines.
Track and monitor patients through the established pre-surgical optimization pathway.
Conduct a structured chronic disease clinic with a focus on strong continuity of care.
Promote and support patient adherence to treatment plans, follow-up schedules, and long-term disease control.
Collaborate closely with various internal teams including the theatre, Outpatient Department (OPD), pharmacy, and laboratory.

Patients are stabilized and proceed safely to surgery.
Reduced surgery cancellations related to uncontrolled medical conditions.
Strong patient follow-up and continuity of care.
Patients feel supported, informed, and well cared for.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma in Clinical Medicine (Registered Clinical Officer).
Valid practicing license in Kenya.
5+ years’ experience in a busy medical outpatient setting managing hypertension and diabetes.
Formal training in diabetes and hypertension management is an added advantage.
Strong clinical judgment and high personal discipline.
Ownership and follow-through with comfort working within structured systems and measurable targets.
A patient-centred approach grounded in professionalism, compassion, and excellence.
