Jacaranda Maternity is an NHIF accredited provider for maternity and gynecological procedures. We provide high-quality, affordable, client-centric, and respectful maternal health care, pediatric, gynecology, and family care assistance at our family care medical centre.
The Clinical Officer Anaesthetist is responsible for monitoring and providing appropriate clinical care (medical and surgical-anesthesia) to patients on hospital wards and in outpatient clinics. This role involves direct patient care, diagnostics, and coordination within the medical team to ensure high standards of safety and professional treatment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring and providing appropriate clinical care (medical and surgical-anesthesia) to patients on hospital wards and in outpatient clinics.
Admitting patients requiring special care followed by investigations and treatment.
Examining and talking to patients to diagnose their medical conditions.
Making notes and preparing paperwork, both as a legal record of treatment and for the benefit of other healthcare professionals.
Coordinating and discussing planned care with the patient and other team professionals as appropriate.
Maintaining effective interpersonal relationships with all staff and patients.
Ensuring that patients are kept fully informed of and understand all procedures and treatments to be undertaken. Informed Consent will be obtained from patients in accordance with Jacaranda policy.
Providing advice to patients regarding healthy lifestyles and specific measures that may help the patient avoid a recurrence of ill health.
Maintaining patient rights and being aware of cultural differences when dealing with patients.
Maintaining a maximum of 30-minute response time for emergencies on scheduled shifts.
Requirements and Qualifications
Higher Diploma in Anaesthesia.
Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
Must hold a valid practicing license.
At least 2 years’ experience working as a licensed Clinical Officer - Anesthetist in a busy maternity institution.
