Chief Steward

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all stewarding operations within the kitchen and F&B outlets.
• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Supervise, train, and schedule stewarding staff to ensure seamless service.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment to prevent shortages.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth overall operations.
• Maintain proper waste management and recycling practices throughout the facility.
• Ensure the proper handling and storage of kitchen equipment, utensils, and machinery to prevent damage.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of all stewarding areas for quality assurance.
• Control breakage, loss, and wastage of equipment to manage costs.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Must have a KCSE certificate and a Certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within a hotel or resort environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Good knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards; HACCP knowledge is considered an added advantage.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and accommodate flexible working hours.
