Job Description
The Chief Officer for Public Works and Transport is a senior executive role within the County Government of Bomet. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management in the department of Public Works and Transport, ensuring that the county's infrastructure and transport goals are met in alignment with the County's Vision and the Constitution of Kenya.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide overall leadership and management for the Public Works and Transport department.
Implement strategic plans and policies to achieve the County Government's objectives.
Oversee the development and maintenance of public infrastructure and transport systems within the county.
Manage departmental resources efficiently and ensure strict adherence to deadlines and performance targets.
Work under pressure to deliver on the County's development agenda.
Ensure compliance with the Constitution of Kenya and all devolution-related legislation.
Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to facilitate integrated planning and development.
Requirements and Qualifications
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Hold at least a relevant first degree from a recognized University in Kenya. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Having attended a Senior Management Course from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
Membership to a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than 10 years, five of which must be in a senior management position.
Proven ability in leadership and Management.
Capable of working under pressure to meet strict deadlines to enable the County Government to achieve its Vision.
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution (integrity and ethics).
Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and Devolution-related legislation.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the County Government plans.
