Job Description
The Makueni County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit a Chief Driver (Job Group 'H'). This is a senior role responsible for professional driving services, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to public service transport standards.
Salary Scale
Job Group 'H': Kshs. 28,620 x 1,110 – 29,730 x 1,120 – 30,850 x 1,150 - 32,000 x 1,170 - 33,170 x 1,250 - 34,420 x 1,300 – 35,720 x 1,380 - 37,100 p.m.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
At least five (5) years of experience in driving.
Passed Occupational Trade Test I for Drivers.
A valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for the class(es) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to drive.
Defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
Attended a Refresher Course for drivers lasting not less than one (1) week within every three (3) years at Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution.
A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police.
Attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution.
Note
Shortlisted candidates will be required to obtain clearance from the following institutions and produce the certificates during interviews:
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
