Jaffery Academy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Chemistry & Biology Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality science lessons across secondary school levels, including International A Level classes, fostering a deep understanding of scientific principles among students.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Chemistry and Biology across secondary school, including International A Level.
Prepare and deliver engaging, learner-centred lessons aligned with the Pearson Edexcel curriculum.
Assess, monitor, and report student progress using a variety of assessment methods.
Maintain accurate academic records and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
Plan and supervise practical laboratory sessions while ensuring compliance with laboratory health and safety procedures.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Integrate educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Contribute actively to departmental planning and curriculum development.
Uphold the school’s safeguarding, child protection, and student wellbeing policies.
Requirements & Qualifications
A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with Chemistry and Biology, or a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biology with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
TSC (Teachers Service Commission) Registration.
Experience teaching the Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and International A Level curriculum (or Cambridge equivalent).
Minimum of five (5) years’ successful teaching experience in Chemistry and Biology at A Level.
