Meru County is seeking a visionary and strategic individual to serve as the Chairperson of the Board. This high-level governance role involves providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the Corporation functions efficiently and fulfills its statutory mandates. The Chairperson will work closely with management and the board to approve financial estimates and advise on the exercise of corporate powers.
Overall Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure proper and efficient exercise of the powers and performance of the functions of the Corporation.
Advise the management of the Corporation generally on the exercise of the powers and the performance of the functions of the corporation.
Approve the estimates of the revenue and expenditure of the Corporation.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Key Competencies
For appointment to this position, the candidate must:
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Be in possession of a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
Hold a Master’s degree in economics, business, law, finance, accounting or any other related field from a recognized university.
Have experience of at least ten (10) years in senior level management in public or private sector.
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
Have demonstrated professional competence and managerial capabilities.
Be visionary and strategic in approach.
Be a team player with ability to network.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
