Job Description
Role Overview
The CCTV Officer plays a key role in safeguarding the Company’s operations by actively monitoring and reviewing CCTV systems across all branches. The role focuses on early detection of risks such as theft, fraud, and operational gaps, while ensuring that all surveillance activities are handled responsibly and in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Key Responsibilities
CCTV Monitoring & Daily Oversight
Keep a close eye on live CCTV feeds across all branches daily.
Review recorded footage routinely and on a spot-check basis.
Ensure that all cameras and systems (DVR/NVR) are functioning properly.
Report and follow up on any system issues promptly.
Incident Detection & Investigation
Proactively identify and investigate incidents such as stock losses, cash handling discrepancies, staff misconduct, and customer-related issues.
Retrieve and safeguard video evidence for investigations.
Maintain clear incident logs and support structured investigative processes.
Reporting & Escalation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports highlighting key observations and risks.
Escalate issues promptly to relevant stakeholders, including Branch Managers, Finance, HR, IT Manager, and the CEO.
Support follow-through on investigations and disciplinary processes.
Compliance & Data Protection
Ensure all CCTV operations align with company policies and the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Control access to footage, safeguard sensitive data, and ensure proper storage and disposal practices.
System Support & Improvement
Work closely with IT and external vendors to maintain system uptime and reliability.
Identify gaps in coverage or system performance and recommend practical improvements.
Audit & Operational Support
Support internal audits, stock counts, and compliance checks by providing relevant footage and insights.
Periodically review branch operations to ensure adherence to company procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Diploma or Degree in IT, Criminology, Security Studies, or a related field.
Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in CCTV monitoring, surveillance, or security operations (retail experience is an added advantage).
Technical Skills: Practical experience working with CCTV systems such as DVR/NVR.
Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with the Data Protection Act, 2019 and surveillance best practices.
