Job Description
The National Youth Service (NYS) is looking for 15 Cadet Officers to serve as Supply Chain Management Officers. This is a permanent and pensionable role that combines professional supply chain expertise with paramilitary discipline. Successful candidates will manage and oversee procurement and supply chain functions within the service.
Role Overview
Candidates appointed to these positions will enter a career path that requires high integrity and professional competence. As part of the appointment, officers must undergo a mandatory nine-month paramilitary training program at the NYS Training College. The role offers competitive benefits including medical cover under the SHA Scheme of Civil Servants and salaries according to the existing NYS salary scale.
General Requirements
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Be between 18 and 28 years of age.
Have no criminal record.
Be medically fit.
Possess a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Possess a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Commerce, Economics, Business Administration (Supply Chain Management option), Procurement and Supplies Management, or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
A minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Must be registered by the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
Terms of Service
Salary and Allowances: As existing in the NYS salary scale.
Medical Cover: SHA Scheme of Civil Servants.
Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable.
Training: Successful candidates MUST undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at NYS Training College.
