Job Description
Role Overview\nThe National Youth Service (NYS) is inviting applications for the position of Cadet Officer - Records Management Assistant II (12 posts). This role involves managing organizational records throughout their lifecycle, ensuring systematic control of the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, and disposal of records. This is a permanent and pensionable position that requires successful candidates to undergo a mandatory nine-month paramilitary training program.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n* Participate in the establishment and maintenance of efficient records management systems.\n* Ensure the security and confidentiality of physical and digital records.\n* Index, catalog, and archive files to ensure easy retrieval and proper document tracking.\n* Digitize physical records and manage electronic databases.\n* Assist in the disposal of records in accordance with government policies and organizational retention schedules.\n* Provide administrative support in the registry and archival units.\n* Ensure compliance with the relevant laws and regulations governing information management.\n\n### General Requirements\n* Must be a Kenyan citizen.\n* Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.\n* Be between 18 and 28 years of age.\n* Have no criminal record and be medically fit for paramilitary training.\n* Successful candidates MUST undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at NYS Training College.\n* Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.\n* Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution regarding integrity.\n\n### Academic and Professional Qualifications\n* Possess a Diploma in Records/Information Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.\n* Cadets must possess a minimum of KCSE grade C- (Minus) for those applying with a Diploma.\n\n### Salary and Benefits\n* As existing in the current NYS salary scale.\n* Provided under the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants.\n* Permanent and Pensionable.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified applicants should download and complete the from the Public Service Commission website.\n\nDuly completed application forms should be submitted through any of the following methods:\n1.
