The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit Cadet Officers to fill the position of Project Management Officer. The National Youth Service is a premier agency through which the Government of Kenya executes an elaborate and comprehensive youth empowerment master plan. These positions are offered on a Permanent and Pensionable basis. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a mandatory NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at the NYS Training College.
Responsibilities
Planning and implementing agency-wide projects within the NYS framework.
Monitoring project timelines and ensuring resource allocation is optimized.
Preparing comprehensive progress reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Ensuring all projects comply with established government regulatory frameworks and NYS standards.
Leading and coordinating youth teams during the execution of community and national projects.
Evaluating project outcomes and proposing improvements for future initiatives.
General Requirements
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Be between 18 – 28 years of age.
Have no criminal record.
Candidates must be medically fit.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
Successful Candidates MUST undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Project Management option) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Salary and Benefits
Salary and Allowances: As per the existing NYS salary Scale.
Medical Cover: SHA Scheme of Civil Servants.
Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable.
