Job Description
The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit Laboratory Technologists to join as Cadet Officers. This role involves working within the medical facilities of the NYS, providing essential diagnostic services. The National Youth Service focus has been to help the youth discover and develop their potential since 1964. This position is permanent and pensionable, and successful candidates will be eligible for medical cover under the SHA Scheme of Civil Servants. This role requires a combination of professional medical expertise and paramilitary discipline.
General Requirements
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Be between 18 and 28 years of age.
Have no criminal record.
Candidates must be medically fit.
Successful Candidates MUST undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at NYS Training College.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Cadet candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Diploma candidates must possess a minimum of KCSE grade C- (Minus).
Be in possession of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science qualification from a recognized institution.
Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
