The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit 15 Cadet Officers to serve as Accountants. This is a unique opportunity for qualified professionals to join a premier agency focused on youth empowerment. Successful candidates will manage financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and undergo a mandatory paramilitary training program to integrate into the service's disciplined structure.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain accurate financial records and reports in accordance with government standards.
Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and accounting principles.
Process financial transactions, including managing accounts payable and receivable.
Provide support for budgeting and comprehensive financial planning activities.
Participate in internal and external audit processes.
Uphold the disciplined standards of the National Youth Service.
Requirements and Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option).
Minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Professional Certification: Must have passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination OR Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (K) Examination or its approved equivalent.
Technical Skills: Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Age: Must be between 18 and 28 years old.
Character: Have no criminal record and meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution (Integrity).
Health: Must be medically fit.
Documentation: Possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Terms of Service
Salary and Allowances: As existing in the NYS salary scale.
Medical Cover: SHA Scheme for Civil Servants.
Terms: Permanent and Pensionable.
Mandatory Training: Successful candidates MUST undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at NYS Training College.
