The Business Intelligence Analyst role at West Indian Ocean Cable Company (WIOCC) is pivotal in providing clear, actionable BI reports and insights to various stakeholders, including senior management. This position involves rigorous maintenance and review of business budget data, P&L reporting, and tracking of Capex and Balance Sheet items, ensuring financial plans are robust and variances are addressed.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Business Intelligence and Analysis Support
- Day-to-day maintenance and review of data in WIOCC’s business budget models and associated working data files.
- Prepare and present clear and actionable BI reports and insights to various stakeholders, including senior management.
- Support the accounting team with any month-end and audit requirements.
- Provide data for dashboards and other Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
- Support other departments in producing ad hoc reports as required.
- Foster strong relationships with key business units to ensure BI solutions meet their needs and contribute to business success.
- Support the Business Intelligence Director or designate with any other reports as required.
P&L Reporting
- Track, reconcile and report on P&L elements across the organization, including budget variances.
- Track and report pipeline opportunities and their impact on the P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Support the annual costs budgeting process, working closely with department heads to prepare realistic and achievable budgets.
- Highlight key dependencies and risks in the financial plan to the Business Intelligence Director or designate.
- Support tracking and reporting of cost optimization projects.
- Support revenue assurance processes within the BI team.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting related as requested by the Business Intelligence Director.
Capex and Balance Sheet Reporting
- Track, report, and report on capex and balance sheet items across the organisation, including budget variances.
- Provide ongoing forecasts for costs, identifying variances from budget and working with departments to address discrepancies.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in e.g. Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or equivalent.
- Relevant professional qualification, e.g., CPA(K) or ACCA.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
