The Business Insights and Data Coordinator will support data-driven decision-making across the pastoralist program by managing data systems, generating actionable insights, and strengthening market intelligence for livestock and pastoralist enterprises. The role focuses on translating complex data into practical insights that improve program performance, strengthen value chains, inform investment decisions, and enhance outcomes for pastoralist communities.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain data collection and data management systems across the pastoralist program.
Generate actionable insights to support program performance and market intelligence.
Strengthen livestock and pastoralist value chains and inform investment decisions through data analysis.
Translate complex datasets into practical insights for program improvement.
Collaborate with teams to ensure high-quality data-driven deliverables.
Support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) and impact systems.
Travel within Kenya, particularly to pastoral counties, for data collection and monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis, market research, data systems management, performance monitoring, or a related role.
Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, specifically Power BI and MS Office.
Systems Management: Experience in designing and maintaining data management systems.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel to pastoral counties in Kenya.
Competencies: Strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Languages: Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required.
Preferred: Knowledge of the agri-food sector, particularly livestock markets, and experience with MEAL systems.
