Job Description
Gap Recruitment Services Limited is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager - Outsourced Finance & Advisory to take charge of new client acquisition and commercial growth across East Africa.
Key Responsibilities
Assume full commercial responsibility for new client acquisition across East Africa, driving consistent business growth and revenue generation.
Own the entire business development pipeline from prospecting and outbound outreach to referrals, EOIs/RFPs, discovery meetings, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure.
Build and nurture strategic relationships with founders, CEOs, CFOs, Finance Directors, investors, development finance institutions (DFIs), and other key referral partners to generate sustainable business opportunities.
Articulate the value of outsourced finance solutions by understanding client challenges, presenting tailored solutions, and converting opportunities into long-term monthly retainer engagements.
Continuously identify and pursue high-value opportunities across priority sectors, including fintech, real estate, healthcare, agribusiness, and professional services, while monitoring market trends and emerging industries.
Requirements & Key Competencies
BA/BSc/HND degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
A proven B2B closer with a track record in professional services (accounting, advisory, consulting, legal, payroll, or outsourced services).
Excellent at selling retainer and advisory engagements to senior decision-makers; understands how founders and CFOs actually buy.
Financially literate – able to hold a credible conversation about tax compliance, IFRS, or fractional-CFO value without needing an accountant present.
Deeply networked across East African SME and startup ecosystems (bonus: DFI, VC, or funding-network relationships).
Self-directed, resilient, and motivated by earnings, measuring performance on deals closed rather than meetings attended.
