Role Overview
Safaricom is seeking a Business Development Account Specialist to drive growth and manage enterprise accounts in the Nairobi and North Eastern regions. The role involves identifying new sales opportunities, managing strategic relationships, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention within the B2B and B2G sectors.
Responsibilities
Health and Safety: Uphold the company code of conduct, policies, and procedures, ensuring integrity and accountability. Adhere to safety, health, and wellbeing guidelines in all actions and decisions.
Revenue Generation: Achieve set revenue targets through new sales, up-selling, and cross-selling to enterprise customers.
Market Development: Identify and develop growth opportunities within the target market and drive adoption of relevant market propositions.
Strategic Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong CXO and buying center relationships to support long-term customer goals. Execute strategic relationship plans.
Account Performance: Manage customer accounts through pipeline development, opportunity tracking, and sales performance rigor.
Retention and Quality: Ensure customer retention via contract management, churn prevention, and proactive issue resolution. Foster positive customer experiences to drive Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Planning and Documentation: Prepare and maintain up-to-date account development plans and sales cycle documentation.
Market Engagement: Leverage company platforms such as events and activities for relationship-building and market penetration.
Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) and strict use of CRM systems.

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, ICT, or a business-related field.
Minimum of 4 years of sales experience in ICT, IoT, or Tech Solutions.
Proven experience managing enterprise accounts in a B2B or B2G environment, preferably within the ISP sector.
Background in providing ICT solutions for corporate, healthcare, humanitarian, or service industries is highly advantageous.
Strong relationship management skills, ideally gained from a large or blue-chip organization.
Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and drive business growth.
Strong business development and solution-selling capabilities with clear commercial acumen.
Clear understanding of enterprise sales processes.
