The Branch Manager is responsible for driving branch performance against key performance standards as communicated and agreed with the Head of Business Segment. This encompasses oversight of balance sheet growth (both funded and non-funded lines), sales growth, income contribution, cost performance, credit management, employee satisfaction, customer experience, and operational risk and control management. The role requires providing strategic leadership to branch staff and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development: Prospect for new business from both new and existing clients to drive branch growth.
Performance Management: Drive and monitor branch business performance against agreed-upon parameters, identifying improvement opportunities and suggesting enhancements to products or processes.
Reporting: Prepare detailed call reports with recommendations for approval and submit weekly activity reports regarding acquired business and customer issues.
Market Analysis: Understand local business drivers that impact branch performance.
Credit Assessment: Analyze financial statements, assess credit requests, and present comprehensive findings and recommendations to the relevant approvers.
Risk & Operations: Manage the collateral registration process, ensure timely securities perfection, and oversee excess drawings and loan arrears to maintain high asset quality.
Leadership & Compliance: Build and lead a motivated branch team, ensure full compliance with internal and external regulations, and monitor operational performance while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science or a related field.
Certifications: Professional Qualifications or membership to relevant professional bodies.
Experience: Over Ten (10) years of relevant experience, with at least Three (3) years in a management position within a similar organization.
