The Branch Manager – Chuka at Sidian Bank is responsible for coordinating with the Head of Branches to implement bank policies and procedures across overall branch operations. The role involves driving business development within the branch market to meet or exceed targets, while providing leadership, coaching, and discipline to staff to ensure exceptional customer service and sales performance in line with the bank's staffing model.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Input and Planning
Prepare and implement branch business plans focused on growth objectives.
Analyze local consumer trends and competitor offerings to provide clear direction.
Manage branch budgets, monitor costs, and report performance variations.
Formulate initiatives to increase new business and share of wallet from existing clients.
Optimize Net Interest Income (NII) and operational expenses.
Business Growth and Development
Take full responsibility for all product lines and sales for the branch.
Drive growth in the business portfolio (Assets and Liabilities) and client recruitment.
Develop and implement turnaround strategies for branch profitability.
Manage high-quality lending and ensure compliance with credit policies and CBK guidelines.
Marketing and Brand Management
Focus on strategic marketing to build competitive advantages.
Conduct product reviews and development based on market feedback.
Build the Sidian Bank brand as a top choice for enterprise banking.
Ensure effective display of merchandising and brief staff on product launches.
Customer Experience and Relationship Management
Drive customer satisfaction and build a base of promoters.
Tailor customer experience designs to target needs and optimize touchpoints.
Embed a customer-centric culture and manage key branch relationships.
Monitor service standards and gather feedback to improve customer loyalty.
Operations and Risk Management
Oversee branch opening/closing procedures and security protocols.
Ensure compliance with AML/CFT/CPF guidelines and internal control systems.
Monitor transactions for unusual patterns and report suspicious activities to the MLRO.
Maintain adequate cash levels and infrastructure standards.
Identify and mitigate risks affecting the branch.
Leadership and People Management
Manage human resources, including performance objectives and appraisals.
Mentor and coach the retail team to enhance motivation and performance.
Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure proper succession planning.
Identify career development opportunities for staff.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic: University degree in a relevant business discipline (Business Administration or Finance). A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of working experience in banking, with significant exposure to Branch Operations, Credit Management, and Business Development. At least 4 years must be in a management role.
Certification: Diploma in Banking – AKIB is an added advantage.
