The Bagasse Yard Operator at West Kenya Sugar Limited is responsible for managing critical fuel systems and yard operations to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the plant. This role involves direct oversight of mechanical components and fuel delivery systems in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
System Operation: Operate and monitor boilers, turbines, conveyors, and fuel systems to maintain peak efficiency.
Safety & Efficiency: Ensure the plant runs safely and efficiently at all times by adhering to standard operating procedures.
Incident Management: Proactively identify potential operational or mechanical issues and perform immediate troubleshooting or escalate matters as required.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed operational logs of plant performance and yard activities.
Maintenance Support: Collaborate with maintenance teams to facilitate repairs and routine servicing of equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience: Between 2 and 5 years of professional experience within a power plant, sugar industry, or similar industrial environment.
Skills: Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting abilities.
Availability: Must be comfortable working in a shift-based environment.
