Africa Safari Trips is seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Painter to join their team in Nairobi. The company offers an extensive range of private safari trips across East Africa, and this role is vital in maintaining the professional appearance and integrity of their safari fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for high-quality paint application, vehicle body maintenance, and ensuring that all finishing work meets professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation: Cleaning, sanding, repairing dents, and masking areas to prepare vehicle surfaces for painting.
Primer Application: Applying etching, high-build, or sealing primers to ensure proper paint adhesion and provide long-lasting corrosion protection.
Basecoat Spraying: Applying color coats evenly and accurately to achieve the desired finish.
Clearcoat Finishing: Sealing and protecting paintwork with gloss and UV-resistant clearcoats.
Polishing and Detailing: Buffing and finishing the surfaces to ensure high-quality aesthetic results.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining tools and spray equipment, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Relevant training in Body Works (Trade Test Grade, Diploma, or higher qualification).
Experience: Proven experience in automotive painting and refinishing processes.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of paint mixing, spraying techniques, and finishing processes.
Soft Skills: High attention to detail, commitment to quality results, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
