Audit Officer II

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Strategy and Policy Implementation: Participate in the implementation of audit and risk strategies, policies, the Audit Framework, and various audit procedures and programs.
• Charter Compliance: Support the implementation of the Internal Audit Charter within the ODPP to ensure adherence to professional standards.
• Technology Utilization: Analyze and utilize audit software and data analytical tools to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the audit process.
• Risk Management: Assist in identifying organizational risks and implementing risk-based audit approaches.
• Audit Execution: Conduct assigned internal audit tasks, including reviewing financial records and operational processes.
• Internal Controls: Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's internal control systems and provide recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BA) with an Accounting or Finance option; OR
  • A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Auditing and Consultancy or Finance option from a recognized institution (or its equivalent).
• Professional Certification: Must have at least Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Part II or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Constitutional Compliance: Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, relating to leadership and integrity.

• Proficiency in data analysis and audit software tools.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
• Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• High standards of integrity and professional ethics.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and documentation.
