The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is established by an Act of Parliament to collect revenue on behalf of the Government of Kenya. The Authority is seeking to provide industrial attachment opportunities for continuing undergraduate and diploma students specializing in Analytical Chemistry. This program is designed to offer practical experience and exposure to the application of chemical analysis and laboratory techniques within a regulatory and customs environment.
Duration and Stipend
Duration: Three (3) months (full-time).
Stipend: A monthly stipend of KShs. 7,000 will be paid, subject to applicable statutory deductions.
Extension: Please note that the Authority does not extend the Attachment Program beyond the three-month period.
Key Responsibilities
While specific daily tasks depend on the laboratory placement, interns can generally expect to:
Assist in the chemical analysis of various samples for revenue assessment and compliance.
Perform laboratory tests following established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results and laboratory observations.
Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Adhere to all health and safety protocols within the laboratory environment.
Support senior technical staff in routine operations and quality control processes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Be a Kenyan Citizen aged below 35 years.
Must be a continuing 1st degree student (Undergraduate) in their 3rd, 4th, and final year of study OR a Diploma student in their final year from a recognized University/College.
Must have a valid introduction letter from the University/College.
Must be available full-time for the three-month duration of the program.
