As an Assistant Wellsite Drilling Fluids Engineer (Mud Engineer), you will be responsible for conducting tests to adjust fluid properties, collaborating with the drilling team, managing fluid-related costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Services: Provide onsite services by measuring, testing, and supervising the running of fluid mixing and pumping. This includes detailed technical analysis and specific recommendations for controlling fluid properties.
Sales Support: Conduct field-level sales calls or accompany Sales Representatives to identify customer needs and provide technical insights.
Mentorship: Train and direct the work of entry-level engineers on-site.
Compliance: Conduct all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, legal requirements, and compliance standards.
Operational Excellence: Collaborate with drilling teams to optimize fluid performance and manage associated operational costs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
At least 5 years’ experience with in-depth knowledge of Drilling Fluids products and services.
Proven ability to identify the proper products and services for both simple and complex drilling applications.
Ability to work effectively within a global matrix organization.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness and ability to travel (potential for travel to rig sites, customer facilities, meetings, and trainings).
