Role Overview
The Kwale County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons on permanent and pensionable terms to fill the position of Assistant Social Development Officer III in the Department of Social Services & Talent Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working with the community to identify and mobilize local resources for the implementation of development projects, guiding communities to develop Community Action Plans (CAPs).
Liaising with local communities and other development agencies in implementing Community development programmes.
Identifying self-help groups and community-based organizations for registration.
Mobilizing and assisting communities in identifying, developing, and managing various viable social and economic activities to uplift their standards of living.
Providing services through increasing the capacity of local people, volunteers, and community organizations, ensuring that community involvement is at the centre of the programme activities.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Counseling, Mental Health, Community Development, Gender, Development Studies, Project Planning/Management, Environmental Studies, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
A Certificate in computer application from a recognized institution.
