This is an entry and training grade for the Quantity Surveying cadre within the Narok County Government. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer to provide technical support in building economics and project cost management. This role is designated under Salary Scale: CPSB 09.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation of project cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and tender documents.
Conducting monthly valuations on-site and performing site re-measurements to ensure accurate payment processing.
Preparing variation orders and providing support for general contract administration.
Assisting in the preparation of interim valuations and final project accounts.
Collecting and analyzing cost data for various county projects to maintain accurate historical records.
Performing any other lawful related duties as assigned by a senior officer.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Be registered as a Graduate member of either the Architectural Association of Kenya (BORAQS) or the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK).
Demonstrate proficiency in relevant Quantity Surveying (QS) software and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
Additional Requirements for Shortlisted Candidates
Candidates who are shortlisted will be required to provide original and certified copies of:
National Identity Card.
Academic and Professional certificates and transcripts.
Clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), a Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate).
A Self-declaration Form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC).
