About the Role
Plaza Premium Group is seeking an Assistant Manager Finance to be primarily responsible for the integrity of financial records for the country. This role ensures compliance with local accounting, tax, and finance-related regulatory requirements and meeting all local reporting deadlines, including local audited accounting and annual corporate tax filings.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Statutory Compliance
- Take primary responsibility for the integrity of financial records for the country, local accounting, and tax and finance-related regularity requirements.
- Meet local reporting due dates (e.g., local audited accounting, annual corporate tax filing).
- Work with HQ-Finance, GSC-Finance, and local management to ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Direct the work of local finance, accounting, and procurement functions, including coordination with Global Procurement teams and external partners.
- Stay updated on local statutory requirements and accounting standards.
- Monitor daily financial accounting matters and enhance process flows.
- Evaluate Balance Sheets and Notes to accounts, raising abnormalities to business partners and leadership.
- Manage AR aging and coordinate action plans with the Credit Controller.
- Ensure the business has adequate financial controls in place; escalate material issues to Internal Audit and the CFO.
- Perform cost reviews to ensure resource optimization.
- Liaise with banks, external accounting firms, auditors, tax authorities, and legal firms.
Management Accounting and Business Partnering
- Act as a finance business partner to drive the financial performance of the business.
- Prepare monthly management reports and perform variance analysis for HQ and Regional Finance Teams.
- Consolidate financial data and business KPIs, analyzing monthly reports for all outlets within the country.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, financial projections, CAPEX analysis, and DCF analysis to support business development.
- Support local management in meetings with airport authorities and clients.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or equivalent.
- Professional qualification in ACCA or CPA(K) is mandatory.
- At least 5-7 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the Hospitality industry or international audit firms.
- Active membership in a recognized professional body.
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting and statutory requirements.
- Leadership, managerial, and supervisory skills.
- Able to work under pressure and independently.
- Conversant in English and competent in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
