Agro-Chemical and Food Company Limited (ACFC) is seeking a qualified Assistant Manager, Engineering (Mechanical). An officer at this level will be deployed to head the Mechanical Engineering Section. The role involves overseeing mechanical maintenance, plant efficiency, and personnel management within the section to ensure the continuous production of power alcohol and baker's yeast.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations: Identify and procure spares necessary for the smooth running of the plant to ensure operational efficiencies and maximization of production output.
Budgeting & Planning: Plan and coordinate the timely preparation of annual budget estimates and outline key activities to be undertaken to achieve desired targets.
Safety Management: Ensure the safety of equipment and personnel within the factory environment.
Human Resources: Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff, conduct training needs assessments, and implement programs aimed at equipping staff with appropriate competencies.
Performance Management: Plan, monitor, and evaluate the performance of staff against set targets and implement development action plans.
Industrial Relations: Participate in settling and handling workers' industrial disputes according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and handle employee disputes in line with approved policies.
Reporting: Facilitate and prepare sectional maintenance monthly reports, ensuring compliance with ISO and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Work Experience: At least eight (8) years’ work experience, three (3) of which should be in a Supervisory position.
Education:
Master’s degree in any of the following: Civil Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Building Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Civil Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Building Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (EBK).
Training: Must have completed a Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
Skills: Proficiency in computer applications is essential.
Compliance: Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
