Job Description
The County Government of Kericho is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals to fill the positions of Assistant ECDE Teacher III / ECDE Teacher III. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality early childhood development education, fostering a safe and stimulating learning environment, and supporting the holistic development of young learners.
Duties and Responsibilities
Class Teaching: Engage in daily classroom teaching and lead learning activities.
Mentorship & Counseling: Act as a role model, offer guidance, counseling, mentoring, and motivation to learners.
Reporting: Prepare periodic progress reports on learning outcomes and administration.
Safety & Security: Ensure a secure and safe environment for all learners under supervision.
Play-Based Learning: Identify, initiate, develop, and facilitate play-based learning activities that allow learners to enjoy learning through play.
Learning Materials: Develop relevant play and teaching/learning materials suitable for all learners.
Professional Records: Prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and daily activity schedules. Carry out assessment and evaluation of learners' progress and maintain accurate professional records.
Requirements for Appointment
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) or KCE division IV at 'O' Level.
Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education offered by KNEC/Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent.
Registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
A Certificate in Computer Applications.
Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service.
Valid medical report from a registered government health facility.
A recommendation letter from the Head teacher of the respective school.
