The Makueni County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit qualified individuals for the position of Assistant ECDE Teacher III. This is an entry-grade role intended for teachers who will work under the supervision of senior teachers for professional mentoring and growth. The primary focus is providing holistic care and education to early childhood learners.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction: Conducting class teaching for early childhood learners.
Mentorship: Providing role modeling, guidance, counseling, and motivation to learners.
Reporting: Preparing regular reports on learner progress and activities.
Safety: Ensuring the safety and security of all learners within the school environment.
Activity Facilitation: Assisting in organizing and facilitating play and learning activities.
Holistic Care: Nurturing the spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic, and emotional growth of learners.
Administration: Managing ECDE classes and maintaining professional and administrative records, including schemes of work, lesson plans, daily programs, and attendance registers.
Resource Development: Preparing and developing age-appropriate play and learning materials.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for direct appointment, candidates must possess:
Education: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) or KCE Division IV at 'O' level.
Professional Qualification: Certificate in Early Childhood Development and Education offered by KNEC/Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent.
Registration: Must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Computer Literacy: A certificate in computer applications.
Certifications:
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service.
Valid medical report from a registered government health facility.
Salary and Terms of Service
Salary Scale: Kshs. 20,560 – 26,460 per month (Job Group F).
