Assistant Director, ICT (Systems)
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is seeking an Assistant Director for ICT Systems, a full-time role based in Nairobi, Kenya. This position is critical for overseeing the development, deployment, and management of the organization's core ICT systems and software solutions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and strategic alignment with organizational goals. The role demands significant technical leadership, proven management skills, and strategic insight into system architecture and capacity planning.
Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Informatics, Computer Science & Technology, Information Systems, Business Information Technology (BBIT), Computing Science and Technology, Computer Security and Forensics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Be a member of a recognized professional body.
- Possess at least one (1) Technical certification in ICT and project management.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution (on leadership and integrity).
- A course in senior management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Experience
Candidates must meet the following experience criteria:
- Served for a minimum of three (3) years at the grade of Senior ICT Officer JSG 4 or in a comparable position.
- Proven experience managing and leading software development teams and possess project management skills.
- Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions.
- Have experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning for systems and databases.
- Extensive experience in preparing RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and solution designs, with a strong working knowledge of vendor programs and the partner ecosystem.
- Familiarity with software development tools and technologies.
