Role Overview
The Assistant Director, Corporate Planning at the National Crime Research Centre (NCRC) is a senior leadership position responsible for guiding the organization's strategic direction. This involves overseeing the development and review of corporate policies, economic analysis of projects, and the implementation of strategic plans. The role ensures that the Centre's programs align with national planning frameworks like the Mid-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the Public Expenditure Review (PER).
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of policies, strategies, legislations, and programs on corporate planning.
Undertake economic analysis of development projects and programmes.
Coordinate the implementation and review of the Centre's strategic plans, service charters, and master plans.
Monitor, evaluate, and prepare progress reports on the implementation of projects.
Coordinate the preparation of the Public Expenditure Review (PER) and Mid-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) budget in consultation with Finance.
Prioritize projects and ensure alignment with the annual MTEF.
Design a framework for monitoring and evaluating the Centre's programmes.
Undertake feasibility studies on delivery projects in consultation with other Directorates.
Requirements and Qualifications
Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years work experience, with at least three (3) years at the level of Principal Planning Officer or a comparable position.
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration (Strategic Management), Public Policy, Project Planning and Management, or an equivalent qualification.
Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing (where applicable).
Completion of a leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrated professional competence and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
