
Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA)
The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) is a state corporation established to regulate, develop, and promote scheduled crops value chains for increased economic growth. This Artisan III (Plumbing) position is an entry-level grade for certificate holders, where the officer works under the guidance of a senior officer to maintain and install essential water and drainage systems within the Authority's infrastructure.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Installing and maintaining water supply and drainage systems.\n- Undertaking routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems, identifying and diagnosing plumbing problems using appropriate tools and techniques.\n- Locating and repairing water supply lines and fixing leaks and clogs.\n- Repairing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and other related units.\n- Installing and maintaining gas and liquid heating systems, including air conditioning units and radiators.\n- Installing waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning Drain, Waste, and Vent (DWV) systems.\n- Participating during the construction, renovation, or repairs of Authority buildings.\n- Preparing plumbing budgets and cost estimates for installation and repair works.\n- Assessing Authority buildings to ensure adherence to all plumbing building codes and regulations.\n\n### Person Specifications and Requirements\nTo be considered for this role, candidates must possess:\n- A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (D plus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.\n- A Government Trade Test Certificate Grade I in Plumbing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.\n- Proficiency in computer applications.\n\n### Statutory Compliance Requirements\nShortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by providing:\n- Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).\n- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).\n- Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).\n- Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).\n- Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).\n- Clearance from the Commission for University Education (for degrees obtained outside Kenya).\n\n### How to Apply\nIf you meet the relevant criteria, please submit your application including copies of your academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and a detailed curriculum vitae.
