Job Description
The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) is a state corporation established to regulate, develop, and promote scheduled crops value chains for increased economic growth. This is an entry-level grade for certificate holders into this cadre, where officers work under the guidance of a senior officer to maintain the Authority's fleet.
Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will be responsible for:
Performing lubrication and other routine service work on vehicles and motorbikes.
Performing general scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on motorbikes and vehicles.
Diagnosing motorbike and vehicle faults and identifying the necessary repair areas.
Performing test drives to check and verify that repair works have been completed successfully.
Updating and maintaining accurate vehicle service records.
Carrying out minor installation and fitting of new vehicle accessories.
Performing general maintenance work on tools, equipment, and garage facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (D plus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Government Trade Test Certificate Grade I in Mechanics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide the following documents in compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010:
Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
