This position is designated as the entry and training grade (CSG 15/ JG 'E') for the Artisan cadre specializing in Building (Plumbing) within the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing fundamental plumbing installation and maintenance duties in public facilities under the guidance of a designated supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this role will entail:
Installing plumbing piping and fittings in public buildings and facilities.
Implementing plumbing maintenance schedules for improvement works in public buildings and facilities.
Collecting data for records and inventory pertaining to plumbing works.
Operating plumbing equipment and machinery.
Adhering to safety protocols in the provision of building and maintenance works (specifically focusing on plumbing, although the source document mentions 'carpentry works' this is understood to refer to general safety in building works).
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Scale (Monthly): Ksh. 21,120 starting, up to Ksh. 26,250.
House Allowance: Kshs. 6,500 per month.
Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 3,000 per month.
Leave Allowance: Kshs. 6,500 (Once yearly).
Leave Entitlement: 30 working days.
Medical Cover: As provided by the government.
Terms of Service: One (1) year contract.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have the following qualifications:
Government National Trade Test III in Plumbing from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
KCSE Qualification.
