Job Description

An Application Specialist at Puratos focuses on developing and testing products, ensuring that innovations are feasible for commercial use, and providing tailored solutions to meet specific customer requirements, mainly at the industrial level, in the bakery, patisserie, and chocolate sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Advice: Support industrial bakeries and patisseries with high-end technical advice.
Customer Solutions: Seek solutions to customers' needs and help them implement products and concepts.
Client Partnerships: Create strong, long-term partnerships with assigned accounts and co-create tailored solutions.
R&D Support: Support the R&D Director in research and new product developments (NPD).
Product Deployment: Lead projects to deploy existing and new products at customers' production facilities.
Market Adaptation: Translate Puratos group guidelines for NPDs to the Kenyan market, supporting the introduction of new products through test baking, samples, and training.
Business Development: Identify and manage new business opportunities and risks to existing portfolios, supporting the business development team in reaching sales targets.
Collaboration: Operate in a cross-functional team with local Technical, Marketing, and Sales colleagues, as well as the global Puratos network.
Market Knowledge: Maintain baking and ingredients knowledge of current and upcoming trends, as well as a thorough understanding of all Puratos products.
Networking: Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and maintain a network of ingredients and equipment experts.
