The Application Manager - OpenMRS will join a dynamic IT Medical Applications team at the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Swiss desk in Nairobi. This role is responsible for the management and maintenance of the new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) solution, OpenMRS3. Working closely with the IT team, functional team representatives, and medical teams in the field, you will provide technical support, maintenance, and assist with the rollout of this tool. This position reports hierarchically to the Medical Director / Head of IT Partners and Applications and functionally to the Information Systems Department (DSI).\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Manage OpenMRS3 instances through their entire lifecycle, ensuring availability and quality.\n- Provide technical support to end-users by analyzing reported incidents and proposing effective solutions.\n- Automate and develop scripts (e.g., Python, shell) to optimize processes.\n- Gain a thorough understanding of business requirements, project stakes, benefits, constraints, and interdependencies.\n- Coordinate communication with all areas and stakeholders impacted by the application lifecycle.\n- Manage suppliers and ensure effective collaboration.\n- Define deployment plans, allocate tasks, supervise daily efforts, identify resource needs, and conduct quality reviews.\n- Report functional, quality, or timeline issues appropriately and propose improvements.\n- Ensure compliance with IT methodologies, tools, and standards.\n- Produce comprehensive documentation and formal reports to ensure traceability of activities and decisions.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- Tertiary degree in computer sciences, information systems, engineering, or a related field.\n- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification.\n- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PMI, Hermès).\n- Proven experience as an Application Manager for OpenMRS, overseeing release management processes.\n- Extensive experience leading OpenMRS version 3 integration and development projects.\n- Proficient in technologies across various roles, including developer, technical lead, and test manager.\n- Experience in development (web, mobile), scripting (Python, shell, etc.), and data management (SQL, reporting tools).\n- Comprehensive understanding of IT concepts (architecture, infrastructure) and medical concepts.\n- Advanced level of written and spoken English; French or Arabic is a bonus.\n- Strong leadership, collaborative, and multicultural communication skills.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the MSF recruitment portal at .
