Amentum is seeking a skilled Appliance Mechanic to supervise and execute maintenance operations for assigned equipment. The role involves managing a team of mechanics, establishing job priorities, and performing high-level installation, diagnostic troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial industrial-grade food service appliances and HVAC systems. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and ASME regulations while maintaining efficient workflows and minimizing equipment downtime.
Responsibilities
Supervise all maintenance operations for assigned equipment according to PWS, company policies, and military regulations.
Manage shop personnel, including mechanics and shop foremen, through planning, performance evaluations, and training.
Establish job priorities and estimate equipment downtime to minimize backlogs.
Provide direct support to internal and external customers to ensure compliance and cost-effective equipment usage.
Perform technical journey-level installation, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial-grade food service appliances.
Manage maintenance schedules and maintain an accurate inventory of replacement parts and supplies.
Oversee and approve contractor work when required.
Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
Repair and maintain commercial cooking equipment and HVAC systems.
Monitor stock levels for required service and repair parts.
Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all assigned employees by enforcing safety guidelines.
Conduct site visits to maintain professional relationships with site personnel and customers.
Requirements and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related technical field.
At least three (3) years of experience in a maintenance supervisor environment is preferred.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturer files.
EPA Refrigerant Certification is mandatory.
Certification for commercial appliance repair is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to meet deployment status requirements.
Understanding of U.S. Army maintenance support systems and DoD contracting policies.
