The Apparel Production Manager leads and manages apparel production operations—including cut, make, trim, and finishing—to ensure output targets are achieved in line with quality, cost, and delivery expectations. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations, this role oversees end-to-end factory performance, supervising approximately 10 direct reports (Quality Assurance Manager, Production Supervisors, Technicians) and a workforce of 100–150 operators. The manager ensures adherence to standards for quality, safety, and sustainability while driving productivity through continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership: Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, and cost targets.
Production Planning: Develop weekly and monthly schedules based on business demand.
Quality Management: Enforce quality systems, including inline and end-line inspection processes; ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
Efficiency Monitoring: Use Odoo ERP dashboards and Gemba reviews to monitor production efficiency and downtime.
Process Improvement: Implement Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies to optimize productivity.
Maintenance Oversight: Manage preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment uptime.
Team Supervision: Oversee operator training and performance management for the manufacturing workforce.
Resource Coordination: Collaborate with Supply Chain for timely availability of fabrics and materials.
Safety and Compliance: Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with ISO 45001 standards.
Reporting: Prepare weekly performance reports for management regarding production and quality metrics.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Textile Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
Experience: At least 8 years in apparel manufacturing, including a minimum of 3 years in a factory leadership role overseeing production and quality teams.
Certifications (Preferred): ISO 9001, ISO 45001, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or Industrial Safety certifications.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with Odoo ERP, Microsoft Excel, and automated sewing/finishing equipment.
Competencies: Strong knowledge of garment production, quality inspection standards, and root-cause analysis. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and change management skills.
Working Conditions
Shift: Single day shift (Monday–Saturday).
Environment: Factory floor based.
PPE: Required in production and QA zones.
Travel: Minimal.
