Nyeri County is a leading giant in food production and a key player in the central tourism circuit. The County Government of Nyeri is looking to recruit a qualified individual for the position of Animal Health Assistant II. This role involves supporting animal health, livestock production, and disease control efforts across the county.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participating in disease research and reporting.
Demonstrating and training farmers on milking techniques.
Demonstrating external parasite control techniques such as dipping, spraying, and dusting.
Carrying out vaccinations and undertaking closed castration, dehorning, deworming, disbudding, docking, de-beaking, hoof trimming, and meat inspection.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
Possess KCPE and KCSE Certificates (Attach certificates).
Hold a certificate lasting not less than two (2) years in either Animal Health or Animal Health and Production from a recognized institution in Kenya.
Be registered by the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) and be retained in the register.
Be licensed by the KVB with a valid practicing license.
A Certificate in meat inspection from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage.
Have relevant experience of two (2) years and above (Attach evidence).
