BM Security is seeking an Alarm/Project Technician to join its technical team in Nairobi. The role involves handling technical activities related to the installation, breakdown repairs, and maintenance of alarm and security systems. The successful candidate will ensure quality technical service delivery, conduct surveys, train clients on system usage, and strictly adhere to security industry and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure efficient use of materials and identify service sale opportunities.
Complete jobs in a timely manner and hand over to the Supervisor for commissioning and subsequent billing.
Address customer complaints and demands, referring to the team leader and Operations Administration Assistant for follow-up.
Provide quality service to both internal and external customers by completing all tasks accurately and within set timeframes.
Maintain flexibility in meeting customer needs, including utilizing logistics such as motorcycles or alarm response vehicles.
Train clients on using security systems to ensure customer satisfaction and conduct basic incident investigations.
Work collaboratively as a team with other technical staff.
Maintain a good turnout in uniform and display strong customer care skills.
Undertake training in systems upgrades according to market demands.
Assist in conducting technical surveys.
Handle technical activities related to breakdowns, maintenance, and installations within assigned timeframes.
Ensure re-servicing is conducted according to schedules.
Comply with KSIA & KBA standards relating to workmanship.
Record and maintain technical records including worksheets, service schedules, and job cards.
Log movements with the control room.
Commission installations and maintain necessary documentation.
Participate in administrative duties such as delivering invoices, letters, and contracts to client response supervisors.
Participate in internal and external meetings.
Adhere to good housekeeping practices including litter/technical waste management and equipment cleaning.
Observe self-discipline, including Health & Safety best practices in the workplace.
Train, support, and enable new technicians to perform effectively and efficiently.
