United States International University - Africa (USIU-Africa) is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty of German to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses using appropriate and innovative pedagogical approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in German language and literature using appropriate and innovative pedagogical approaches.
Prepare course outlines, instructional materials, assessments, and examinations in accordance with University policies and academic standards.
Facilitate an engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and academic excellence.
Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback on coursework and examinations.
Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure program relevance, quality, and alignment with industry and disciplinary developments.
Participate in program assessment, accreditation, and quality assurance activities as required.
Contribute to departmental, school, and university committees, meetings, and other academic activities as required.
Participate in community engagement and professional service activities that enhance the University’s mission and visibility.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Dean or the University from time to time.
Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience
A PhD in the relevant discipline (German/Germanics or related) from a recognized and accredited university, OR
A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of university-level teaching experience.
A strong record of scholarly research and publications.
Proficiency in the use of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS) for teaching, learning, and assessment.
