Job Description
This internship position is designed to provide hands-on experience in corporate accounting, administration, and financial management while supporting various organizational departments.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payables Support: Assist in preparing payments by verifying invoices and supporting documentation for expenses.
Records Management: Maintain organized and accurate financial records (both digital and physical) to ensure easy retrieval.
Treasury Support: Provide support in daily, weekly, and monthly treasury activities, including tracking basic financial movements.
Accounts Receivables Support: Assist in monitoring billing and follow up with the relevant teams to support timely collections.
Financial Systems: Help maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in accounting systems.
Cash Tracking: Support the tracking of cash movements for program funding and assist in basic reconciliations under supervision.
Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring proper documentation and timely filing of statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, NSSF, VAT, etc.) under guidance.
Reporting: Support preparation of monthly financial reports and summaries.
Audit Support: Assist in organizing documents and information required for audits.
Cross-functional Support: Work closely with the business development team to provide basic financial and administrative support.
Administrative & HR Support: Assist with general administrative duties including records management, and leave tracking.
General Support: Perform any other duties assigned in support of the organization’s operations and learning objectives.
Accounts Payables: Preparing payments with correct supporting invoices and documents, for all expenses.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Progress in professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with accounting systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work both independently and within a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and willingness to support tasks beyond core responsibilities when required.
