The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is the National Prosecuting Authority in Kenya, mandated by the Constitution to prosecute all criminal cases in the country. This position is the entry grade for the Accountant cadre. An officer at this level may be deployed to work at the Regional or County Offices under the guidance of a senior and experienced officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specifically, duties and responsibilities will include:
Implementing accounting policies, standards, systems, strategies and procedures for the Office.
Monitoring effectiveness of accounting policies guidelines, procedures and standards.
Facilitating expenditure control.
Preparing payment vouchers both for staff claims, imprest warrants and suppliers.
Invoicing of all payment vouchers.
Invoicing of Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIEs) for all ODPP spending units.
Filing of all vouchers both for payments, receipts, imprest and surrenders of import.
Custodian of voucher stamping stamps.
Maintaining various voucher movement registers.
Filing, storing and retrieval of official documents for the accounts division.
Processing of invoice payment through the Integrated Financial and Management Information System (IFMIS).
Filing and storage of accounts documents.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Finance option) or Accounting or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certified Public Accountant - CPA Part II or its equivalent qualifications.
Meet Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
